Copper Solder?
There has always been a design challenge when wanting to incorporate copper into your work in regards to a solder that matches it. I got all excited when I saw this new option from Riogrande. A “copper colored solder” sounded like a magic bullet.
Then the fine print from Rio...
“Because this solder is grey in color, it is not a good color match on visible joints.”
The item number is 132200 so feel free to check it out for yourself, but... well yea...
kind of a bummer.
So if you run into the actual “copper color solder” that would change the copper artists lives...
please let me know.
UPDATE:
#132198 is now offered by Riogrande.com and is a true copper solder! “An improved color match for your copper designs, this 18-gauge (.032") wire solder contains 93% copper.”
