Circle chain
This simple chain is made with multiple circles, each with a single solder joint.
1.Use 14 gauge wire, and wrap multiple times around a dowel or mandrel. In this case I am using a ring mandrel because I want the circles to be multiple sizes.
2.Cut with shears or a saw. If using shears you will need to file the ends to create a clean end.
3.Link the loops together and square your solder joints. You don’t need perfect circles yet... you will refine the shape after you solder.
4.Place on solder block and solder in sections.
5.Shape the loops on ring mandrel using a rawhide mallet.
6.Using a hammer, flatten two sides of each circle. Texture with a hammer. I am alternating a classic hammered texture with a forged texture.
7.Fashion a hook with a single wire.
8. Polish in tumbler.
