Vincent Giannini
As a metal artist, Vincent works mostly in steel, silver and copper. As a blacksmith, he forges artistic and functional items ranging from jewelry to furniture. Vincent's silversmithing and coppersmithing activities involve jewelry, bowls and plaques.
Vincent co-wrote course materials for the 12-month Certificate Program In Blacksmithing with the master blacksmith at the Virginia Institute of Blacksmithing (VIB). His efforts with VIB focused on teaching blacksmithing in a way that is clear, concise and easy to understand. Vincent writes about metal working techniques, the purpose and use of manual and powered tools, the properties of various steel alloys, and forge etiquette and safety.
In addition to hammering metal, Vincent also enjoys creating artistic and functional items using fused glass. He especially is interested in creating pieces using reactive glasses that add dimension to his designs.
Vincent also is co-author of 'Getting Music: The Basics For Rock, Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop & Country', an easy-to-understand book on essential music theory and jargon for modern musicians. The book is used by amateur and semi-professional musicians nationally and has been adopted for use in high schools and middle schools.
Vincent is a member of the Blacksmiths' Guild of the Potomac and the Artist Blacksmiths' Association of North America.
