Copper Enameling

A simple but very effective art form that adds color to metal by fusing it with heat (firing in a kiln). An enamel powder is dusted on the surface of the metal in a design and this is then fired turning the dust to a fused glass surface.

In this workshop you will learn:

  1. How to use an acetylene torch to prepare the metal

  2. Drilling and sawing the metal to create original shapes

  3. Creating texture by stamping or rolling

  4. Applying color using a sifting method

  5. How the piece is fired
